Safe Space is an investigation on the meaning of diversity and representation, as well as the potentials of inclusive architectural education and practice in Norway. It is an attempt to create a conversation platform around diverse voices and initiatives to question systemic inequalities and the hegemony of the majority in the profession. This is a call to action, to deconstruct and rethink, to create change and move toward a more equitable architecture.
Safe Space takes the form of an
exhibition/residency, an 8-episode
podcast series, and a 6-issue
zine series. This is a project by Safe Space Collective, developed in collaboration with
ROM for kunst og arkitektur, Oslo between 2020 and 2021.
